Paris in the early 20th century.
Two girls who had come from Japan lived there. One of them is Fujiko, who dreams of becoming a painter, even though she is expected to be a good wife who supports her husband in the future. The other is Chizuru, born into a samurai family and a master of the naginata (a type of Japanese pole weapon), but who is drawn to ballet.
One day, Chizuru happens to come to Fujiko's rescue when she gets into trouble , and it turns out to be a fateful reunion for the two, who had met in Yokohama when they were children. When Fujiko learns of Chizuru's dream, she discovers that Olga, the mother of Ruslan, a young man who lives in the same apartment building, is a former ballerina from Russia, and asks her to give her lessons. Despite facing various obstacles due to their East Asian heritage, the two begin to pursue their dreams, but one day Fujiko's guardian, her uncle, disappears. Will Fujiko and Chizuru be able to achieve their respective dreams?
