Learn a bit more about what’s involved in keeping a studio that dubs anime afloat as well as the benefits behind both dubs and subs…

Art of Akira - sample artwork

Moving onto our next announcement – we’re proud to announce two unique exhibitions on UK soil.  We’ve split the announcements over two posts to give each the space they deserve:

EDINBURGH – September 25th, Scotland Loves Anime in association with The Peacock Collection and the ToonSeum is proud to present a free exhibition featuring original art and animation cels from the groundbreaking anime classic Akira.  No other film had ever looked like Akira, it’s stunningly fluid and detailed animation often requiring as many as nine separate cel layers.

Come see never-before-displayed aspects of the film, from full backgrounds, sketches and production development layouts, to the layers of cels that made up some of the most astounding scenes in the film.

The Art of Akira exhibition will be on display from October 8th to the end of October 17th in the Filmhouse Gallery and is free to come in and look at.

To celebrate this there is also a screening of Akira scheduled to close the first Scotland Loves Anime festival too – on Sunday the 17th October in the evening so why not come in for a look at the artwork behind this incredible film then book some tickets for Scotland Loves Anime?
